The question this issue poses
Revenue from operations rose 42.03% in FY26 while profit after tax attributable to owners moved only from ₹53.32 Cr to ₹53.81 Cr and operating cash flow stayed negative for a second year, so the question this ₹552 Cr issue put at ₹272 - 51.61 times FY26 basic earnings of ₹5.27 - is whether the margin given away in FY26 bought lasting share in networking cables or simply bought revenue.
IPOVista score
Every pillar opens to show the raw metric, the curve it was mapped through, the sub-score and its weight. Disagree with the weighting if you like — the arithmetic is all here.
IPOVista score
A trade-off in both directions
97% of the scoring model was backed by disclosed data for Orient Cables, giving high confidence. Weights for anything missing were redistributed rather than scored as zero.
Below the line: market sentiment. Capped at 8 of 100 points so a hot grey market can tilt a score but never carry one.

The company
Founded 2005 · Gurugram, Haryana · 613 employees
Orient Cables makes the cable that carries data and power inside buildings and networks. Its core line is networking cable - CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6 and CAT6A LAN cable, plus CCTV and coaxial cable - which it has manufactured since 2006 and which supplied 78.23% of FY26 revenue from operations. Around that it has built three other lines: specialty power and optical fibre cables and solutions; wire and cable harness assemblies including EV charging gun cable assemblies; and other allied products, currently keystone jacks, power strips and power cords. Production runs from two plants at Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, close to the inland container depots at Garhi Harsaru and Rewari, and a third at Bengaluru that began commercial operations in May 2026; annualised installed capacity at 30 June 2026 was 895,776 km of cable and 5,040,000 pieces of allied products. The company sells business-to-business to telecom service providers, telecom and networking equipment makers, IT solution providers, data centres, power utilities, OEMs and resellers, and the RHP records that it supplies two of India's top three telecom companies by revenue. It employed 613 permanent and 1,327 contractual staff at 30 June 2026. A subsidiary, OCL Greentech Private Limited, was incorporated on 5 May 2025 to manufacture EV charging guns and cables.
One business, sold by the kilometre into long-lived accounts. Revenue from operations grew from ₹657.77 Cr in FY24 to ₹824.96 Cr in FY25 and ₹1,171.65 Cr in FY26, a disclosed two-year CAGR of 33.46%, and the RHP attributes the gain to share taken in networking cables - approximately 16% of that market in FY22 against approximately 22.9% in FY26 on the commissioned 1Lattice estimate. The economics are those of a copper converter: the primary raw materials are copper, priced off the London Metal Exchange, and PVC compounds and masterbatches, priced off crude, and the prospectus states only that cost increases have generally been passed on. That pass-through did not hold in FY26 - the year delivered an 8.23% EBITDA margin in FY26 against 10.17% in FY25, and profit after tax attributable to owners barely moved, from ₹53.32 Cr to ₹53.81 Cr, on revenue 42.03% higher. Growth has been funded by working capital and debt rather than by cash generated: net working capital days went from 14 in FY24 to 27 in FY25 to 48 in FY26, operating cash flow turned negative in FY25 and stayed negative, and total borrowings rose from ₹36.73 Cr to ₹234.19 Cr over the same three years. Demand is concentrated - the top ten customers supplied 76.52% of FY26 revenue - and domestic, with exports down to 9.26% of revenue and mostly to the UAE and Qatar.
What makes it hard to copy
Qualification rather than price: customers audit the plants and mandate third-party testing abroad before ordering, and the company holds ETL, UL, CPR and CE certifications along with BIS 14493 for LAN cable. The result is relationships averaging over nine years across the top ten customers and 93.92% of FY26 revenue from top-50 customers who had also bought the year before.

The numbers
Revenue has compounded at 33.5% a year across the 3 reported financial years.
Figures in ₹ crore, as reported in the prospectus. Interim quarters are not annualised.
Profit and operating margin as a percentage of revenue
At each period end, in ₹ crore. Gearing below each period is borrowings over net worth, from these same figures.
Profit after tax and net cash from operating activities, in ₹ crore. The figure under each period is cash generated per ₹100 of profit.
Above 100% the business collects more cash than it books as profit. Persistently below it, growth is being funded out of working capital.
The price
At the upper band this issue asks a 20.2% premium to the median P/E of the listed peers its own prospectus names.
Always post-issue, so issues stay comparable with each other

Returns and margins. These are the figures that say whether the multiple above is deserved.
Gearing at the latest balance-sheet date.
Asking P/E against operating margin. All marks are the same size — market capitalisation is not disclosed for every company here, and sizing only some of them would read as a measurement.
Peer companies are those named in the issuer's own prospectus. A higher position means better margins; further right means a more expensive multiple. Market capitalisation, where disclosed, is in the tooltip and the table.
The terms
58% of the money raised is fresh capital that goes to the company; the rest goes to shareholders selling down.

Percentages are of the net offer, which excludes any employee or shareholder reservation.

37% of the quantified proceeds is earmarked for growth; the rest repairs the balance sheet or is unallocated.
Demand
Subscription is hard exchange data. Grey-market premium is not — it is an unofficial quote, shown because readers want it and labelled because it deserves the label.
Cumulative bid multiples at the end of day 3. Anchor allocations are excluded.
Hover or focus a category to see who bids in it.
A category subscribed above 1× is oversubscribed; allotment in that category then runs as a lottery or on a proportionate basis.
Anchor investors commit one working day before the issue opens and are locked in for 30 and 90 days. Who turns up here is the first real signal of institutional appetite.
Notable participants
Premium quoted over the ₹272 cut-off price. Unofficial and unregulated — sentiment, not a forecast.
The grey market is an informal, unregulated market with no clearing house and no obligation to settle. A premium here does not guarantee a listing gain, and quotes can move sharply — this one ranged ₹110 to ₹118, a spread of ₹8, across the period shown.
Outcome
As of 13 Oct 2026
Work it out
Three calculations, each stating the assumption it rests on.
Shares are applied for in whole lots at the cut-off price. The full amount is blocked in your bank account under ASBA, not debited, until allotment.
One lot is 55 shares at ₹14,960. Retail applications are capped at ₹2,00,000, which allows up to 13 lots here — apply for more and you are bidding as a non-institutional investor instead.
When the retail category is oversubscribed, SEBI requires a lottery for the minimum lot. Every application has the same chance, whatever its size.
~3%
chance of one lot, per application
This is an estimate of a lottery, not a prediction. Actual odds depend on the final basis of allotment, how many applications were at the minimum lot, and rejections for technical reasons. Applying from multiple distinct PANs is the only legitimate way to hold more tickets in that lottery.
This issue has listed, so there is a real number instead of a prediction. The grey-market premium is shown beside it for comparison.
₹450.00
listed at, 65.4% against the issue price
The grey market called 40.4% and the stock did 65.4% — a miss of 25.0 percentage points.
Our read
Grounded only in figures disclosed in the prospectus. This is analysis, not a recommendation.
Straight from the filing
Every figure on this page comes out of these. Go and check them.
Served by the issuer, the exchange or the regulator — never a copy hosted here, so what you open is the filing itself.
The paperwork
How these figures were checked
Reconciled to Orient Cables's own prospectus and to exchange disclosures, then cross-checked against 11 other independently published compilations of the same filing. Where a stated ratio disagreed with the line items it should come from, the disagreement was settled against the prospectus itself.
The prospectus is the authoritative document. Check anything that matters against it before you act.
