The question this issue poses
A debt-free niche manufacturer earning a 29.79% EBITDA margin and a 40.33% RoCE on ₹505.12 Cr of income is being offered at 40.69× FY26 earnings — in a deal where not one rupee of the ₹712.31 Cr reaches the company, and where FY26 dividends of ₹140.18 Cr already exceeded the ₹116.79 Cr the business earned.
IPOVista score
Every pillar opens to show the raw metric, the curve it was mapped through, the sub-score and its weight. Disagree with the weighting if you like — the arithmetic is all here.
IPOVista score
Broadly well-balanced
90% of the scoring model was backed by disclosed data for HD Fire Protect, giving high confidence. Weights for anything missing were redistributed rather than scored as zero.
Below the line: market sentiment. Capped at 8 of 100 points so a hot grey market can tilt a score but never carry one.

None of the money raised reaches the company. Existing shareholders are selling down; the balance sheet is unchanged by the listing.
Grey market data is unofficial

The company
Founded 1997 · Mumbai, Maharashtra · 279 employees
HD Fire Protect makes the hardware that puts industrial fires out. Its catalogue runs to eight product categories across the three suppression media — water, foam and gas: sprinklers and alarm valves, deluge valves and pre-action systems, foam concentrates and foam-proportioning equipment, water-spray nozzles, fire monitors, custom-engineered systems and gas suppression units. The equipment is specified into refineries, petrochemical complexes, power stations, aerospace and defence facilities, pharmaceutical plants, data centres, warehousing and public infrastructure, and reference installations include Saudi Aramco sites, the Jamnagar refinery, the launch pad at Sriharikota and India's new Parliament building. The company was incorporated in April 1997, is run from Mumbai, and manufactures at two plants in Thane and Jalgaon in Maharashtra spanning 8.50 acres with an in-house R&D centre and fire test laboratory. CRISIL ranks it India's second-largest manufacturer of fire protection equipment and systems by revenue and the largest exporter of such equipment by value.
This is a product business, not a projects business: HD Fire Protect sells certified components and engineered systems to fire-protection contractors, EPC firms and end users, and books revenue on shipment rather than on milestone completion. The moat is certification. The company holds 21 UL Listings and 87 FM Approvals — the most of any India-focused fire protection manufacturer — and each approval takes between six and twenty-four months to obtain, which is what lets a sub-₹500 Cr revenue company sell into Aramco and hold the margins it does. Those economics are visible in the P&L: total income rose from ₹392.02 Cr in FY24 to ₹450.68 Cr in FY25 and ₹505.12 Cr in FY26, a 13.5% CAGR, while EBITDA went ₹106.63 Cr → ₹138.01 Cr → ₹150.46 Cr and PAT ₹87.92 Cr → ₹109.72 Cr → ₹116.79 Cr, landing FY26 at a 29.79% EBITDA margin, a 23.12% PAT margin and a 40.33% RoCE with essentially no borrowings. Exports are about a third of the business — 34.69% of FY26 product and service sales and 32.78% in the April–June 2026 quarter — shipped to more than 90 countries historically and 49 countries in Q1 FY27 alone, with the Middle East the anchor market and a stated intent to begin local manufacturing and trading in Saudi Arabia within one to two years. Demand is replacement- and project-driven rather than contracted: 2,066 customers bought in FY26, 85.20% of revenue came from repeat buyers, the top ten customers were only 23.69% of revenue, and the order book stood at ₹158.60 Cr on 30 June 2026 against roughly ₹70 Cr in March 2025.
What makes it hard to copy
It holds 21 UL Listings and 87 FM Approvals - the most of any fire-protection-focused manufacturer in India as of September 2026, on CRISIL's count - on products that each take six to twenty-four months to certify, and holds Saudi Aramco 9COM numbers for valves and for sprinkler systems that admit it to Aramco tender lists.

Demand
Subscription is hard exchange data. Grey-market premium is not — it is an unofficial quote, shown because readers want it and labelled because it deserves the label.
Cumulative bid multiples
Bidding has not opened yet, so there is no subscription data to show.
Anchor investors commit one working day before the issue opens and are locked in for 30 and 90 days. Who turns up here is the first real signal of institutional appetite.
Notable participants
Premium quoted over the ₹271 cut-off price. Unofficial and unregulated — sentiment, not a forecast.
The grey market is an informal, unregulated market with no clearing house and no obligation to settle. A premium here does not guarantee a listing gain, and quotes can move sharply — this one ranged ₹63 to ₹86, a spread of ₹23, across the period shown.
Work it out
Three calculations, each stating the assumption it rests on.
Shares are applied for in whole lots at the cut-off price. The full amount is blocked in your bank account under ASBA, not debited, until allotment.
One lot is 55 shares at ₹14,905. Retail applications are capped at ₹2,00,000, which allows up to 13 lots here — apply for more and you are bidding as a non-institutional investor instead.
Applying needs a demat account with a linked UPI ID, and the ₹14,905 is blocked rather than debited.

When the retail category is oversubscribed, SEBI requires a lottery for the minimum lot. Every application has the same chance, whatever its size.
Retail subscription figures are not available yet, so there is nothing to estimate from.
Arithmetic on an unofficial quote. The grey market has no clearing house and no obligation to settle — this is sentiment made numeric, not a forecast.

Grey-market premiums have historically moved sharply in the days before listing and have been wrong in both directions. Treat this figure as a measure of current enthusiasm, nothing more.
