The company

What the business actually does

Founded 1999 · Patna, Bihar · 58 employees

Century Business Media sells out-of-home advertising space — the hoardings, digital screens and panels travellers walk past. Its inventory comes from concessions won from government authorities rather than from land it owns. It holds exclusive advertising rights at five airports (Patna, Ranchi, Deoghar, Darbhanga, Jorhat), non-exclusive rights at Dimapur and Lilabari, and marketing rights at Gaya, Agartala and Silchar. In railways it holds exclusive rights outside station campuses across five East Central Railway divisions covering 714 stations, and it runs Platform Screen Door advertising at Howrah and Esplanade metro stations. It also sells conventional city formats — billboards, unipoles, wall wraps, in-shop branding. Buyers are banks, insurers, FMCG, steel and mining companies, state and central government departments, and media-buying agencies. Operations centre on Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and the North East. Headcount was 58 on 31 July 2026.

Revenue is the fee advertisers pay for space on assets the company mostly does not own. Airport OOH was 61.52% of FY26 revenue from operations of Rs 4,643.34 lakhs, railway 24.82%, city formats 11.01%, metro 2.52%. The matching cost is "purchases of services" — display and installation bought in — at Rs 2,871.02 lakhs, 61.40% of FY26 total income, which is why the EBITDA margin sat at 18.47%. The structural constraint is the concession itself: airport and railway agreements carry a fixed Minimum Monthly Guarantee payable to the authority regardless of what the space actually sells, so weak passenger traffic lands on the company, and rights expire and must be re-bid. Bihar alone was 35.56% of FY26 revenue.

Percentages are of paid-up equity, and the “after” column assumes the offer is fully subscribed, which is how the offer document states it. What an allotment is worth now, before costs

Work it out

What this means for one application

Three calculations, each stating the assumption it rests on.

What one application costs

Shares are applied for in whole lots at the cut-off price. The full amount is blocked in your bank account under ASBA, not debited, until allotment.

Lots

Shares applied for

Amount blocked
₹2,36,800

One lot is 1600 shares at ₹1,18,400. This issue requires a minimum of 2 lots, so the smallest application is ₹2,36,800. That is how the SME board is built rather than a quirk of this issue: the minimum application is set above the ₹2,00,000 that caps a retail bid on the mainboard — two lots rather than one. The smallest bid here still sits in the individual investors’ category, the one the subscription figures call retail, and when that category is oversubscribed the minimum application is allotted by draw of lots — so the odds beside this apply directly.

Odds of getting an allotment

When the retail category is oversubscribed, SEBI requires a lottery for the minimum lot. Every application has the same chance, whatever its size.

~3%

Retail subscription
39.81×
Applicants per share available
39.8× the retail quota

This is an estimate of a lottery, not a prediction. Actual odds depend on the final basis of allotment, how many applications were at the minimum lot, and rejections for technical reasons. Applying from multiple distinct PANs is the only legitimate way to hold more tickets in that lottery.

Our read

The case for and against

Grounded only in figures disclosed in the prospectus. This is analysis, not a recommendation.

What works

  • Revenue rose in each year the record carries: Rs 32.03 Cr in FY24, Rs 36.65 Cr in FY25 (up 14.42%) and Rs 46.43 Cr in FY26 (up 26.68%). Profit after tax rose alongside it, from Rs 3.68 Cr in FY24 to Rs 4.70 Cr in FY25 (up 27.72%) and Rs 5.56 Cr in FY26 (up 18.30%).
  • Net worth rose in each year on record, from Rs 7.76 Cr in FY24 to Rs 12.47 Cr in FY25 and Rs 18.02 Cr in FY26. Total borrowings were Rs 8.10 Cr, Rs 5.50 Cr and Rs 7.96 Cr across the same years, so borrowings against net worth were 1.04x in FY24, 0.44x in FY25 and 0.44x in FY26.
  • The whole Rs 17.11 Cr issue was fresh capital, with the offer-for-sale component recorded at Rs 0 Cr, and promoter holding moved from 100% before the issue to 73.61% after it. The fresh issue of Rs 17.11 Cr was equivalent to 94.95% of the FY26 closing net worth of Rs 18.02 Cr.
  • On the final day of bidding, 16 September 2026, the book stood at 57.93 times overall, with QIB at 47.53 times, NII at 113.88 times and retail at 39.81 times.

What to weigh against it

  • Revenue is concentrated by format and by geography. The business description splits FY26 revenue from operations of Rs 4,643.34 lakhs into airport 61.52%, railway 24.82%, city formats 11.01% and metro 2.52%, and puts Bihar alone at 35.56% of FY26 revenue.
  • The business description states that the inventory sits on assets the company mostly does not own, that airport and railway agreements carry a fixed Minimum Monthly Guarantee payable to the authority regardless of what the space actually sells, and that the rights expire and must be re-bid.
  • Bought-in display and installation is the dominant cost line: the business description puts purchases of services at Rs 2,871.02 lakhs, or 61.40% of FY26 total income. Computed from the financials table, the EBITDA margin was 17.42% in FY24 (Rs 5.58 Cr on Rs 32.03 Cr), 19.59% in FY25 (Rs 7.18 Cr on Rs 36.65 Cr) and 18.48% in FY26 (Rs 8.58 Cr on Rs 46.43 Cr).
  • The shares listed at Rs 74, the top of the Rs 70 to Rs 74 band, for a listing gain of 0%, and the last price on record is Rs 56 as of 22 October 2026, 24.32% below the listing price.

Easy to miss in the prospectus

  • The record carries no valuation block and no post-issue share count, so no earnings multiple or market capitalisation can be derived from it; the Rs 56 price as of 22 October 2026 sits in the record without any per-share earnings figure to set against it.
  • The financials give revenue, EBITDA, PAT, net worth and borrowings only. Total expenses, total assets and cash flow from operations are absent for all three years, so cash conversion cannot be checked against the reported profit of Rs 5.56 Cr in FY26.
  • Only one subscription observation is on record, the day-4 close of 16 September 2026, and the record carries no anchor book, no category allocation split, no peer set and no grey-market series.
