The question this issue poses
In one sentence
Anubhav Plast, incorporated in 1987 and based in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, makes ERW steel pipes and swaged steel tubular poles and employed 35 people at 31 March 2026. How this issue scores, and why
Every pillar opens to show the raw metric, the curve it was mapped through, the sub-score and its weight. Disagree with the weighting if you like — the arithmetic is all here.
IPOVista score
Balance sheet is the open question
63% of the scoring model was backed by disclosed data for Anubhav Plast, giving medium confidence. Weights for anything missing were redistributed rather than scored as zero.
How this score is builtBelow the line: market sentiment. Capped at 8 of 100 points so a hot grey market can tilt a score but never carry one.

Leveraged balance sheet
Debt-to-equity of 2.1× leaves limited headroom if demand softens or rates rise.
SME platform listing
SME issues trade in larger lot sizes with thinner volumes than mainboard listings, which makes exiting a position harder.

The company
What the business actually does
Founded 1987 · Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh · 35 employees
Anubhav Plast makes electric-resistance-welded (ERW) steel pipes and swaged steel tubular poles at two plants in Kanpur Dehat, Uttar Pradesh. The poles - over 80 standard sizes to IS:2713 - carry overhead electricity distribution lines, street lights and telecom equipment; the pipes run from 1.5 to 8 inches round and up to 100x100 mm square, made to IS:3589, IS:4270 and IS:9295. Buyers are state electricity utilities, municipal lighting departments, telecom, construction, irrigation and water-supply contractors, reached mostly through government tenders. Installed capacity on a single shift is 90,000 MT a year of pipe and 1,50,000 poles a year, and most pipe output is consumed internally to build poles. The company employed 35 people at 31 March 2026. Despite the name, it makes no plastics.
Revenue is the sale price of fabricated steel, so the economics are a conversion spread over hot-rolled coil. Raw material consumed absorbed 90.39% of revenue from operations in FY23, 84.11% in FY24 and 81.31% in FY25; the prospectus attributes the improvement to bringing pipe-making in house instead of buying pipe. HR coil comes largely from one Navratna PSU under a quarterly supply MoU. The binding constraint is order flow, not capacity: tender specifications differ, so stock cannot be built ahead, and FY25 utilisation ran at 10.91% on the tube mills and 24.12% on the pole machine. One customer, Anubhav Tubes & Conductors, was 39.73% of FY25 revenue.

Percentages are of paid-up equity, and the “after” column assumes the offer is fully subscribed, which is how the offer document states it. This record does not disclose a pre- and post-issue share count, so the part of the company actually changing hands is not split out — everyone who is not a promoter is shown together.

What the market is bidding
Subscription is hard exchange data. Grey-market premium is not — it is an unofficial quote, shown because readers want it and labelled because it deserves the label.
Subscription by category

What an allotment is worth now, before costs
Work it out
What this means for one application
Three calculations, each stating the assumption it rests on.
What one application costs
Shares are applied for in whole lots at the cut-off price. The full amount is blocked in your bank account under ASBA, not debited, until allotment.
- Shares applied for
- 3,200
- At cut-off price
- ₹80.00
- Amount blocked
- ₹2,56,000
One lot is 1600 shares at ₹1,28,000. This issue requires a minimum of 2 lots, so the smallest application is ₹2,56,000. That is how the SME board is built rather than a quirk of this issue: the minimum application is set above the ₹2,00,000 that caps a retail bid on the mainboard — two lots rather than one. The smallest bid here still sits in the individual investors’ category, the one the subscription figures call retail, and when that category is oversubscribed the minimum application is allotted by draw of lots — so the odds beside this apply directly.
Odds of getting an allotment
When the retail category is oversubscribed, SEBI requires a lottery for the minimum lot. Every application has the same chance, whatever its size.
~38%
chance of one lot, per application
- Retail subscription
- 2.60×
- Applicants per share available
- 2.6× the retail quota
This is an estimate of a lottery, not a prediction. Actual odds depend on the final basis of allotment, how many applications were at the minimum lot, and rejections for technical reasons. Applying from multiple distinct PANs is the only legitimate way to hold more tickets in that lottery.

Our read
The case for and against
Grounded only in figures disclosed in the prospectus. This is analysis, not a recommendation.
What works
- EBITDA was Rs 4.26 Cr on revenue of Rs 87.14 Cr in FY23 (4.89%), Rs 6.64 Cr on Rs 87.33 Cr in FY24 (7.60%) and Rs 12.18 Cr on Rs 98.17 Cr in FY25 (12.41%) — a higher margin in each year after the first on record.
- Raw material consumed absorbed 90.39% of revenue from operations in FY23, 84.11% in FY24 and 81.31% in FY25; the record's business description states that the prospectus attributes the improvement to bringing pipe-making in house instead of buying pipe.
- Total borrowings stood at 3.72 times net worth in FY23 (Rs 27.80 Cr against Rs 7.47 Cr), 3.04 times in FY24 (Rs 28.99 Cr against Rs 9.55 Cr) and 2.10 times in FY25 (Rs 32.64 Cr against Rs 15.55 Cr) — a lower ratio in each year after the first on record.
- The whole Rs 24 Cr was a fresh issue with the offer-for-sale component at nil, an amount equal to 154% of FY25 net worth of Rs 15.55 Cr; promoter holding was 99.99% before the issue and 72.73% after it.
What to weigh against it
- One customer, Anubhav Tubes & Conductors, was 39.73% of FY25 revenue of Rs 98.17 Cr, and the record's business description states that HR coil comes largely from one Navratna PSU under a quarterly supply MoU.
- Total borrowings were Rs 27.80 Cr in FY23 and higher in each year after it, Rs 28.99 Cr in FY24 and Rs 32.64 Cr in FY25; the FY25 figure is 2.68 times FY25 EBITDA of Rs 12.18 Cr.
- Revenue moved 0.22% between FY23 (Rs 87.14 Cr) and FY24 (Rs 87.33 Cr) and 12.41% in FY25 (Rs 98.17 Cr), a three-year gain of 12.66%, while profit after tax over the same three years was Rs 0.74 Cr, Rs 2.08 Cr and Rs 6.00 Cr.
- FY25 capacity utilisation was 10.91% on the tube mills and 24.12% on the pole machine; the record's business description states that the binding constraint is order flow rather than capacity, and that tender specifications differ so stock cannot be built ahead.
Easy to miss in the prospectus
- The record holds no valuation, peer, anchor or allocation data and no GMP series, so no earnings multiple at the Rs 77-80 band can be worked out from it.
- No operating cash flow, total assets or expense figures are present for FY23, FY24 or FY25, so the reported profit after tax of Rs 0.74 Cr, Rs 2.08 Cr and Rs 6.00 Cr cannot be reconciled to cash within this record.
- The concentration and utilisation figures — Anubhav Tubes & Conductors at 39.73% of revenue, tube-mill utilisation at 10.91%, pole-machine utilisation at 24.12% — are given for FY25 only, with no FY23 or FY24 comparison in the record.
