The question this issue poses
In one sentence
Rentomojo rents furniture and home appliances to urban households on monthly subscription plans; the record states that 97.90% of FY26 revenue from operations of Rs 386.99 Cr came from renting furniture and appliances, and that at 31 March 2026 the company had 253,825 live subscribers across 29 cities, 851,184 rentable items and 20 warehouses covering 538,933 square feet. Revenue from operations was Rs 192.70 Cr in FY24, Rs 265.96 Cr in FY25 (38.02% higher) and Rs 386.99 Cr in FY26 (45.51% higher), with EBITDA of Rs 78.15 Cr, Rs 118.44 Cr and Rs 163.46 Cr over the same three years. How this issue scores, and why
Every pillar opens to show the raw metric, the curve it was mapped through, the sub-score and its weight. Disagree with the weighting if you like — the arithmetic is all here.
IPOVista score
Broadly well-balanced
63% of the scoring model was backed by disclosed data for Rentomojo, giving medium confidence. Weights for anything missing were redistributed rather than scored as zero.
How this score is builtBelow the line: market sentiment. Capped at 8 of 100 points so a hot grey market can tilt a score but never carry one.

The company
What the business actually does
Founded 2012 · Bengaluru, Karnataka · 835 employees
Rentomojo rents furniture and home appliances to urban Indian households on monthly subscription plans instead of selling them. Customers are largely renters and young working professionals who move often, and they subscribe to beds, mattresses, sofas, wardrobes, washing machines, refrigerators, televisions and water purifiers for a recurring fee, with delivery, installation, servicing, relocation and pickup handled by the company. Orders come through its website and app and through 82 experience stores. As of March 31, 2026 it had 253,825 live subscribers across 29 cities, a pool of 851,184 rentable items, and 20 warehouses covering 538,933 square feet where items are refurbished between tenancies and redeployed to the next subscriber. Brands on the platform include Haier, Wakefit, Livpure and Duroflex alongside private labels.
Revenue is recurring subscription rental: 97.90% of FY26 revenue from operations of Rs 386.99 crore came from renting furniture and appliances. The company buys the assets up front and recovers them over multiple rental cycles, so the dominant cost is depreciation and amortisation, Rs 70.47 crore or 18.21% of FY26 revenue, plus Rs 25.34 crore of finance cost on Rs 187.59 crore of borrowings. Economics therefore hinge on utilisation: occupancy was 83.34% in FY26 against a Rs 426.17 crore gross block of property, plant and equipment. FY26 EBITDA was Rs 163.46 crore (41.48% of total income), but reported PAT of Rs 104.30 crore exceeded pre-tax profit of Rs 67.66 crore because of a one-off Rs 36.64 crore deferred tax credit.

Percentages are of paid-up equity, and the “after” column assumes the offer is fully subscribed, which is how the offer document states it. This record does not disclose a pre- and post-issue share count, so the part of the company actually changing hands is not split out — everyone who is not a promoter is shown together.

What an allotment is worth now, before costs
Work it out
What this means for one application
Three calculations, each stating the assumption it rests on.
What one application costs
Shares are applied for in whole lots at the cut-off price. The full amount is blocked in your bank account under ASBA, not debited, until allotment.
- Shares applied for
- 37
- At cut-off price
- ₹404.00
- Amount blocked
- ₹14,948
One lot is 37 shares at ₹14,948. Retail applications are capped at ₹2,00,000, which allows up to 13 lots here — apply for more and you are bidding as a non-institutional investor instead.
Odds of getting an allotment
When the retail category is oversubscribed, SEBI requires a lottery for the minimum lot. Every application has the same chance, whatever its size.
~6%
chance of one lot, per application
- Retail subscription
- 15.62×
- Applicants per share available
- 15.6× the retail quota
This is an estimate of a lottery, not a prediction. Actual odds depend on the final basis of allotment, how many applications were at the minimum lot, and rejections for technical reasons. Applying from multiple distinct PANs is the only legitimate way to hold more tickets in that lottery.

Our read
The case for and against
Grounded only in figures disclosed in the prospectus. This is analysis, not a recommendation.
What works
- Revenue from operations slightly more than doubled across the three years on record, from Rs 192.70 Cr in FY24 to Rs 386.99 Cr in FY26 (2.01x), rising 38.02% in FY25 and a further 45.51% in FY26.
- EBITDA as a share of revenue from operations was 40.56% in FY24 (Rs 78.15 Cr on Rs 192.70 Cr), 44.53% in FY25 (Rs 118.44 Cr on Rs 265.96 Cr) and 42.24% in FY26 (Rs 163.46 Cr on Rs 386.99 Cr). The record separately states FY26 EBITDA as 41.48% of total income, a wider base than revenue from operations.
- Net worth grew faster than borrowings at both year-on-year steps on record: net worth rose 31.52% in FY25 (Rs 139.61 Cr to Rs 183.61 Cr) against borrowings up 5.00% (Rs 147.22 Cr to Rs 154.58 Cr), and 61.11% in FY26 (to Rs 295.81 Cr) against borrowings up 21.35% (to Rs 187.59 Cr). Borrowings to net worth was 1.05x in FY24, 0.84x in FY25 and 0.63x in FY26.
- The one subscription row on record, for the closing day of 11 September 2026, shows the issue subscribed 72.89 times overall, with the QIB portion at 177.29 times, NII at 67.93 times and retail at 15.62 times.
What to weigh against it
- Rs 1,105.57 Cr of the Rs 1,255.57 Cr issue (88.05%) was an offer for sale and Rs 150 Cr (11.95%) a fresh issue, so roughly one rupee in eight of the issue size was new money to the company. The record lists no stated objects for the fresh issue proceeds.
- The FY26 EBITDA of Rs 163.46 Cr carried depreciation and amortisation of Rs 70.47 Cr (18.21% of revenue) and finance cost of Rs 25.34 Cr beneath it: 163.46 less 70.47 less 25.34 leaves Rs 67.65 Cr, against the stated pre-tax profit of Rs 67.66 Cr. The company reports FY26 occupancy of 83.34% on a gross block of property, plant and equipment of Rs 426.17 Cr, which is 1.10x FY26 revenue of Rs 386.99 Cr.
- Reported PAT was Rs 22.41 Cr in FY24, Rs 43.11 Cr in FY25 and Rs 104.30 Cr in FY26, but the FY26 figure sits above that year's pre-tax profit of Rs 67.66 Cr and includes the Rs 36.64 Cr deferred tax credit the record describes as one-off.
- Total borrowings were Rs 147.22 Cr in FY24 and rose at both subsequent steps on record, to Rs 154.58 Cr in FY25 (5.00%) and Rs 187.59 Cr in FY26 (21.35%). Promoter holding was 21.49% before the issue and 19.74% after.
Easy to miss in the prospectus
- The valuation block is null and the post-issue share count is not recorded, so no earnings multiple or market capitalisation can be computed from this record at the Rs 384-404 band.
- Expenses, total assets and cash flow from operations are null for all three financial years on record, so the EBITDA figures of Rs 78.15 Cr, Rs 118.44 Cr and Rs 163.46 Cr cannot be reconciled to cash from this record.
- Against the Rs 404 band top, the share listed at Rs 482.45, closed day one at Rs 534.25 and was last recorded at Rs 532.85 on 23 October 2026 - 10.45% above the listing price and 0.26% below the first-day close.
